Mercy Road Bio
"Mercy Road" is a southern gospel quartet based in Nashville, Tennessee whose members have been performing gospel music for many years, with various other groups.

A "Mercy Road" concert consists of a mix of southern gospel classics, hymns of the church, current releases, and new songs written by their lead singer, Danny Duke.  This gifted songwriter is churning out exciting, scripturally-based songs that are thrilling audiences wherever they are sung.

Danny Duke • Lead – lives in Lascassas, TN.  He has sung gospel music for 34 years with such groups as Strait Gate, The Accords and Southern Praise.  Danny has performed extensively throughout the Southeast and is highly regarded as one of the best amateur lead singers in gospel music.  His powerful and exciting voice is always a crowd favorite.

Mike Wiggington • Baritone – lives in Lebanon, TN.  During the past 25 years, he has sung bass with such groups as The Brotherhood Quartet, The Polston Family, and The Midstate Quartet.  Mike has shifted up one part to sing baritone for Mercy Road.  His voice gives just the right blend to effect the full, smooth harmony sound of the group.

Mark Smith • Bass – lives in Gallatin, TN.  He has sung bass for the past 30 years, most recently with The Hymnsmen, a popular regional quartet from Cleveland, TN.  Mark has also sung with scrap-iron quartets consisting of notables such as “Big” Jim Hamill, Garry Sheppherd, Jerry Thompson, and Danny Funderburke.  He has a smooth, rich tonal quality and a low resonance that provides the solid foundation for the quartet.

Although Mercy Road’s primary performance venues are in churches – they are also available to spread the gospel in song to other outlets, including civic organization meetings, conventions, community fairs, and reunions.
